A fast, cited standard-range calculator on your inputs. You are the legal authority. This tool looks up the seriousness level, applies the correct grid, and adds enhancements β every number carries its RCW citation. You confirm the inputs; it does the arithmetic.

The seriousness level (IβXVI) is set by statute for each offense in RCW 9.94A.515 β it's a property of the crime, not a discretionary call. We pre-fill it from the offense you pick. Confirm it, or override when one of these applies:
- Charged degree or subsection differs β some offenses carry different seriousness levels by subsection (e.g., the value or means alleged). Match the level to what's actually charged.
- Anticipatory offense (attempt, solicitation, or conspiracy) β use the completed offense's seriousness level, but the standard range is then calculated at 75% of the grid range (RCW 9.94A.595). This tool reports the full grid range β apply the 75% reduction yourself.
- Unranked felony β some felonies aren't listed in the grid and carry no grid range. The court imposes a determinate sentence of generally up to one year of confinement (more only as an exceptional sentence, and never above the statutory maximum for the offense) (RCW 9.94A.505). If your offense isn't in the list, it may be unranked β verify in the manual.
When unsure, confirm against the offense's entry in the 2025 Adult Sentencing Manual.
Your offender score (0β9+) comes from RCW 9.94A.525. The point most people miss: the same prior counts for a different number of points depending on what the current offense is β there's a separate scoring rule for each offense category, so use the scoring form for your current offense.
- Prior felony convictions are counted and weighted by type. As a general guide, prior serious violent felonies score highest, violent felonies next, and other felonies least β but the exact points are fixed by your current offense's subsection of RCW 9.94A.525. Use that form.
- Other current offenses (multiple charges sentenced together) also add to the score.
- Wash-out: some priors drop out if the defendant stayed crime-free in the community β generally 5 years for class C felonies and 10 years for class B; class A felonies and sex offenses do not wash out. Confirm the timing rules.
- Juvenile adjudications can count, subject to current law.
- Post-Blake: convictions for simple drug possession are void and do not count toward the score.
- Enter 9 for a score of 9 or more β the grid tops out there.
This tool does not compute the score. Determine it from RCW 9.94A.525 and the manual's scoring forms, then enter it. When in doubt, score it both ways and note the range.
Enhancements: check only those supported by the facts and actually pled and proven. Firearm, deadly-weapon, and sexual-motivation amounts depend on the felony class. The four βnot auto-computedβ enhancements must be verified in the manual. Enhancements are generally mandatory and run consecutively to the base sentence. RCW 9.94A.533
